Challenges
A large crude oil pipeline had several large bore gate valves that needed to be repaired or replaced. One of the valves on the schedule was identified as critical to operations. Our customer could not chance having the existing valve out of service for an extended period of time due to unexpected setbacks that can occur during field repairs.
Solution
Allied Valve provided a replacement 24″ ANSI 600 M&J slab gate valve to the customer’s specifications which included:
- NACE trim for crude oil service
- Yoke tube extension, stem seal injection extension, and special below-grade paint added for silo installation
- SS seat injection fittings and a SS drain valve were installed to allow for future maintenance
The valve was shipped directly to the terminal ahead of schedule. For additional time and cost savings, Allied Valve’s factory-certified technicians installed, stroke tested, and calibrated the customer’s existing actuator. The valve replacement gave our customers peace of mind in knowing their critical valve would not shut down production longer than expected.
