Riverdale, IA – Barry Shoulders, President and CEO of Ovation Holdings, Inc., today announced the acquisition of Valve Sales, Inc. (VSI), a leading supplier of valves, actuation, and customized flow control and process control products to petroleum and natural gas producers in the energy-rich states of Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico.

Founded in 1975 by oil field veteran Bill Campbell, VSI has expanded from its headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK, to include 5 additional regional offices that work with producers to design, install, and service safe and efficient gathering, flow control, and emergency shutdown systems using the world’s leading brands of electric and pneumatic actuators, custom control panels, and application-specific control valves and related equipment.

Effective July 15th, VSI has joined Ovation Holdings, Inc., which houses process industry experts Allied Valve, Inc., headquartered in Bettendorf, IA, and St. Louis, MO-based Automation Service. “Customers of VSI will be pleased to know the company will remain under the experienced and capable direction of Rich Beers, now President of Operations,” says Shoulders. “The entire technical VSI workforce will remain in place and their efforts will be reinforced by additional skilled service technicians we will add to the staff in the near future.”

According to Beers, “This partnership will allow us to continue growing our role as the regional value leader in the oil and natural gas markets and extend our reach to areas where Allied Valve and Automation Service have already earned excellent reputations. Expanded service capabilities and product offerings will also allow us to be a valuable asset to other industries such as ethanol production, pipelines, and electrical power stations.”

The newly combined companies under Ovation Holdings, Inc., will now be able to claim combined sales and technical service experience that exceeds 170 years, as well as a team of more than 250, including engineers, applications experts, certified technicians, and support personnel. The three independently operated companies, and an e-commerce site, will also be able to expand geographical service boundaries to efficiently assist customers wherever they may be located within the continental United States.

Shoulders also believes that the three merged companies will be able to leverage their combined strengths to capitalize on a burgeoning trend that is causing many of the industry’s largest multi-locational industrial valve users to seek “Preferred Supplier” partners.

“As more and more baby boomers with significant experience in valve management and maintenance hit retirement age, many large utilities, processing plants, and pipeline operators are looking for partners that can fill the knowledge void for them,” Shoulders relates. “We’ve already established several productive relationships where we manage everything from scheduled facility maintenance shutdowns to monthly maintenance and product replacement programs across all of their facilities. The addition of VSI as the only UL-approved shop for assembly of Asahi actuation products and the sole supplier of JBT actuation products enhances our combined capabilities allowing us to serve this growing need in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.”
